Lanquin being a very small and remote village mostly attracts it’s tourists by nearby Semuc Champey.

Don’t even have words to describe it, you have to see it to believe!

Long story short, took us 35min in a truck with babies, pigs, drunk guys and an old sick women to get there, all for the sake of saving 10Q. Was fun for the first 10min and once pig got loaded as well as five stacks of boxes strapped to the roof, sh** got real. (more…)

Rio Dulce and how we hitchhiked to hot springs

Rio Dulce and how we hitchhiked to hot springs

‘Rio Dulce is a must visit in Guatemala’- I was told by many travellers. So here I am, last night in my dorm on a water, typing out my disappointment.

Honestly, wouldn’t put it on my must see places list. The only reason I ended up here is to use it as a connection point to either Belize or Honduras, at the point of arrival was still undecided. But with a little research and a fortune in my pocket I was hopeing to bring a plan into reality and be on a last ferry to Utila at 4PM. (more…)

This peace of article is put into writing while sitting in an old minivan en route to Rio Dulce, hence it might come across as sensible one. And I guess thats exactly how I feel right now, so should use thiose weak hours of traveling and pull the best out of it. All for the sake of giving you the real taste of Guatemalas shady side.
