The only place I’ve stopped in Costa Rica was Puerto Viejo. I know, it is a beautiful country with a huge percentage of worlds fauna but not today, not in this trip. So while in Puerto Viejo, I was advised to visit at least one national park, in the end, that’s what Costa Rica is mostly famous for. Cahuita was the closest option to do so, also rumoured to house many sloths, that are my main interest on this little visit. (more…)

So I have my sister over. It’s like being a child again. She comes to visit, brings chocolate and new clothes over, and gives me an excuse to splash a little bit on ice cream and cheesecakes! Oh yes, and go shopping.
Apart from that, we went to San Blas. I know it’s not Maldives but as close as it can get on my route around Caribbean. (more…)

Looking back to March 2014, I was happily settled onto Cambodian land, soaking feet in Gulf of Thailand. And as many remember, that’s the place where my last 20 something approached me. Exactly one year later, March 21st 2015 runs into me on the opposite side of the world- Central America, to be more precise, Nicaragua, even more precise- Little Corn Island. (more…)

I have dived once before, a few years ago in a pool in London. It didn’t go well; too cold and too scary. And after that dive I gave up- I’m not going to fall into passionate divers category. But then, after two years, I’ve reached Utila, and indeed the storyline changed.
I went to snorkel into beautiful clear waters and it got me there. I signed up for an open water diving course. After reading numerous of blogs I chose to dive with Parrots. Instructor Ron was so amazing that after my course I did advanced open water, which allows you to dive much deeper. (more…)

Lanquin being a very small and remote village mostly attracts it’s tourists by nearby Semuc Champey.
Don’t even have words to describe it, you have to see it to believe!
Long story short, took us 35min in a truck with babies, pigs, drunk guys and an old sick women to get there, all for the sake of saving 10Q. Was fun for the first 10min and once pig got loaded as well as five stacks of boxes strapped to the roof, sh** got real. (more…)

‘Rio Dulce is a must visit in Guatemala’- I was told by many travellers. So here I am, last night in my dorm on a water, typing out my disappointment.
Honestly, wouldn’t put it on my must see places list. The only reason I ended up here is to use it as a connection point to either Belize or Honduras, at the point of arrival was still undecided. First night spent at Bruno’s was in correct words awful. Not mentioning flying cockroaches, dorm building was just next to the massive bridge, where at least dozen of trucks pass every hour, 24/7. It feels like helicopters circling outside your window and some kind of war happening at the same time. Even my super-duper earplugs were not able to isolate all of the madness. To make things worse, power was lost around 6am turning off all the fans and water. Vuolia, don’t forget this cost us 50Q for a dorm bed.
Let me make this story more Disney World like, with a happy ending. (more…)
