I never knew how much I needed to relax until I came to De Ubud Villas. Living in Bali already seemed like a never-ending holiday but I guess you sometimes need to take holiday from holiday too! De Ubud Villas was my secret getaway to enjoy little luxury and isolate myself from rest of the world. From the infinity pool, to lux white rooms, private butlers and delicious breakfast– De Ubud Villas was everything I hoped for, and more.

Here’s why:

Luxury private villas overlooking wild fields

De Ubud Villas consist of seven one, two or three bedroom designer villas with private pool. Each villa features a mixture of contemporary and traditional art. The furniture and artwork are from Bali and rest of Indonesia, including classic teak wood doors, tables and sofas.

We were very lucky to stay in one bedroom villa overlooking the palm-tree fields (Villa 6). Villa itself has an open plan concept that I absolutely adore. Private entranceway led to our open plan kitchen with living room overlooking the private pool and garden. Bedroom was air conditioned and had an incredible 4-poster bed with useful mosquito net, that made me feel like a princess every morning.

The bathroom had a large shower area and a great soaking tub- great way to end up your day. Sprinkle some petals and you’re in heaven.

I can’t even stress enough how much I loved our private pool. For me perfection spell like this: sunrise yoga session followed by a latte by the pool. What more can a woman ask on the Saturday morning?! Butler delivering breakfast- that was included too.

Hello incredible service

When it comes to service, De Ubud Villas are winning a gold medal. From the first step into reception I felt that I was at the right place; everyone is so warm and inviting, it makes you feel at home.

We were greeted with welcome drink and a cool towel whilst the reception staff checked us in- no need to fill in a form just hand over your passport and credit card and they do all that for you. Later we got shown around the property and while our bags got taken care off the only thing left for us to do was enjoy our time here.

Did I mention breakfast delivery to your villa?!

The most exciting and unique part for me was a private cell phone. We got one on arrival and could contact the team from anywhere in Ubud. For whatever reasons we needed them, we’re always connected. Well, that is a dedication to your customers!

There’s also a free shuttle into Ubud centre that runs on your request. Housekeeping come twice a day – the afternoon team for our villa kindly draped the mosquito net over the bed, turned pool lights on and lit insect repellent candles in our living room.

I often think it’s the little extras that tell you a lot about a hotel; they certainly make a big difference to how I feel overall about the stay. De Ubud Villas, although officially rated 4 star for some box-ticking reason, looks and feels like a 5 star property in every way imaginable.

Made to order breakfast

Breakfast at Chinamoon Cafe was superb. Guests can order it to be delivered to their villa or eat by the main pool. Both options are made to order and set you off to the great day ahead.

I loved all the daily options and wanted to try them all! But how many breakfast can a girl have a day?Mouth melting croissants, fruit pancakes, eggs Benedict- all tasted like a dream. I was also very excited to see they had an espresso machine, which meant crafted latte every morning!

We decided to treat ourselves for a cheeky cocktail by the pool too, as it’s a secret getaway after-all and no one has to know about it, shhhh;)
